Many different kinds

tpyically used devices for 5F closure include:
Vascade (E)

Angio-Seal (CG)

Mynx Ace (VS)

of course manual pressure x 15 min (JF)

these devices are don't actively approx, they mostly deploy some substance at the arteriotomy as a 'plug"

For larger french size closure, Proglide is a very ncie device

actively approx using a prolene suture right at the arteriotomy

very nice device when used correctly

used proglide around 11/25/2017

high stick- my mistake, large pannus and just poor judgement

always keep safety wire in - 018 preferred, 018 90 cm or so wire

slide proglide in

take out wire when its at the skin

advance proglide in- may feel wierd

you'll see blood exiting

pull number 1

pull back till it hits arteriotomy - check fluoro

deploy sutures number 2 click

pull number 3

mandolin shiz

fip 4 backand then slip device out, harvest sutures TWO of them

dont pull white tip

advance wire back through when see arrow at the skin- safety wire

pull on blue stitch to tighten knot

use loopy knot device to send knot downwards

its alittle tricky but you can "feel" the knot going downwards

at the end tight the white

and then snip both under the skin

done - should hemostase

very nice when its done right

can pull the wire then
