Pre pulmonary vein ablation study Search Pattern:

study is done pre right atrial ablation

USE EP WORKFLOW

use 3D images to examine LA and look for congeital abnormal drainage of the pulmonary veins

remeber not to mistake the atrial appendage for a vein

use the multiplanar images with cross hairs to find the shor tan dlong axis of a pulmonary vein (there are four, right and left superior and inferior)

measure the diameter with two measurement just distal to the osteium using th edistance pair ctrl D and click perimeter and pull down

capture the above image and label it which pulmonary vein and this will be sent ot pacs

then measure distance from ostium of pulmonary vein to the first branch point

use the axial short axis view to find the first branch and then measure the distance

show the distance and the first branch point and capture this image and then send this as wlel with the label of the pulmonary vein

re. the extra pulmonary vein findsings:

Per VC, dont need to go in depth on coronary arteries, aorta, and chambers because of the fact its not really done for eval of this..  no nitro etc for looking at coronaries.

DONT MISTAKE THE ATRIAL APPENDAGE FOR A PULMONARY VEIN
SOMETIMES THERE ARE THREE PULMONARY VEINS ON THE RIGHT SIDE- SAW THIS
